Plan out of shooting:

 

All members of the production group and actors will arrive promptly at Olivia's house for 11:30 am, whereby we will begin to set up where we will be shooting first which will be in the bedroom. Before recording anything, we will do a run through of the script and scene with our actors and director on standby so they are confident and comfortable with the layout. This will also enable us to change and improve anything we feel doesn’t fit within the scene. Due to the use of various shots within our production, we will also run through different shots and placements of the camera, and pre-planning how the shots will be taken within the environment, so we are aware of how to execute filming correctly and avoid time wasted.

This shooting session will mainly be focused on taking enough footage for the editor to work with. This will help reduce the time and have the production time having to film these scenes again.

 

Outcome:

As the cinematographer, my main goal/outcome for this filming session is to gain enough clean and reliable footage for our editor to work along. Also to use various shots to help convey emotions throughout our production.

As a group collectively, we have begun to plan our filming sessions eg. Camera shots, what scene we will be filming. This is an effective plan because it helps our group and actors understand what progress we have made with filming and what needs to be done or improved 

 

 

SHOOTING PLAN - 2

Plan out of shooting: 

All members of the production group and actors arrive promptly at Olivia's house for the continuation of filming within the bedroom. We will briefly go through the rest of the script that continuous in the bedroom and make sure both actors understand what we would like to get covered within this filming session. The most significant aim of this filming session is to complete all the filming that needs to be done for the home and bedroom scenes, hence why we have decided to film over a longer period of time. The use of props within this filming session is highly significant as the majority of the shots will include these as all props used to highlight an important theme of the film. 

Also, another key aim of this filming session is to make sure we finish with enough footage of each shot, this will aid the editor, so we have a various amount of shots within the short film.

Outcome:

 

As the cinematographer, my main goal within this filming session was to complete all the bedroom scenes which we completed. Also, we completed all the filming needed for Olivia's scene within the bathroom with the pregnancy test and the scene of her writing the letter. Furthermore, we got enough clear and crisp footage of Kyle's shot within the home alone. 

Overall, we are happy with what we have filmed so far, and we are on track for the amount of filming we need to get done.

 

 

SHOOTING PLAN - 3

Date: Saturday 7th October 2017

 

Time: 8:30am - 10:00am

 

Location: 66 bus route 

 

Transport: walk to bus stop

Plan out of shooting:

The aim of this filming session is to focus on filming Olivia's separate scene on the bus on her way to Liverpool street station. We hope to gain many shots of Olivia on the bus, highlighting her emotions. Also, we will be filming the scene of her on the phone to Kyle.

 

Outcome:

We completed the filming session with clear and crisp shots of Olivia on the bus, however, due to timing and how busy it became on the bus, we didn't get time to film the phone conversation between both Olivia and Kyle which we will have to film another time.

Plan out of shooting: 

All members of production group arrive promptly and the actor needed (Liam Wade) at the train station, whereby we will be filming Kyle running to the train station to catch the train to  Liverpool street to see Olivia. It is important that today we made sure that Liam knew exactly how we would be filming this scene and where exactly we will need him to be for every shot, so we will go through this scene with him while the director shows him where we should be etc. 

Also for us to show Liam how to use the camera and we will be including a POV (point of view) shot when he is running up to the girl at the station for help. 

 

Outcome: 

We completed all filming needed, all shots of Kyle at the station trying to get in contact with Olivia, conversation with the girl at the station and also him watching the video clip of the news report of the bombings. 

We also successfully filmed the point of view shot, due to Liam struggling how to film it, as the cinematographer I completed this scene. However, we did need a wider range of different shots of Kyle at the station and also his reaction after finding out what happened to Olivia.

Plan out of shooting:

The plan and aims for today's filming session were to complete more shots for Kyle at the train station and also to focus on making sure the last scene includes a significant amount of different shots to highlight his emotions. 

 

Outcome:

We finally completed all filming that needed to be completed for this scene and was able to get a good amount of various shots needed to highlight Kyle's emotions and also succumb to the genre conventions of drama.

The aim of this filming process is to get more footage of Olivia on the bus to the train station and also to capture her conversation with Kyle on the phone, as we didn't get to film this last time.

 

Outcome:

We completed all the different various shots of Olivia on the bus, to help highlight her emotions and also filmed her conversation on the phone to Kyle and how the conversation played out.
