In my editing plan, I organised a clear step by step guide on how I would make the best out of this production. To successfully achieve this I have the opportunity to use a range of applications from Final Cut Pro to Adobe Audition to allow me to produce a great film.

Furthermore I have the ability to be more flexible using Final Cut Pro due to the past experience using the software so I have researched many new identities/techniques in the program allowing me to familiarise and understand more about Final Cut Pro through the process.

Order of shots- Continuity editing=

This is used to show a transition from one shot to another telling a story with narrative continuity which helps the audience to identify what is going on and providing a smooth flow within the production. Continuity editing is vital as it creates realism so as our production is about the 7/7 bombings we will need a continuous flow of narrative so the audience will understand the story we are portraying.

Using flashbacks will take the narrative back in time and usually sets out the story revealing key moments and information the audience will need to know to understand the narrative. in this case, I will have to use a flashback when Kyle is reading a letter Olivia has left for him.

An establishing shot will be used to identify the location the characters are in, Our film will be set in several locations such as a house where Olivia and Kyle will be, a bus when Olivia Leaves Kyle, and then a location near a train station where Kyle goes after her.

As the editor I will make sure that the 180 degree rule is not broken, I will be looking at the footage and see if any mistakes are presented and we are following the 180 degree rule throughout.

Voiceover=

A voiceover is used to show the communication from the character to the audience of their thoughts or feelings, this will be important to use as the voiceover may reveal hidden secrets or confessions the character will leave to reveal.

One of my key jobs as the editor is to keep the sound levels stable to create a smooth continuity within the narrative.
